I. Product Introduction

This Geosynthetic Disc Sampler is designed for cutting circular specimens from various geotextiles and geocomposite materials. It is made of stamped aluminum alloy, with an adjustable cutting blade height. The disc sampler is commonly used together with an electronic balance to determine the mass per unit area (GSM) of geotextiles.

II. Product Structure and Operating Principle

1. The cutting blades are double-sided blades, with four blades evenly distributed around the circumference at 90° intervals. The blades are replaceable. To replace a blade, loosen the four Phillips screws on each blade, remove the blade clamp and cutting blade, and install a new blade. Reinstall the blade clamp, ensuring that the cutting edge is oriented clockwise and that all four cutting edges are on the same plane. Then tighten the Phillips screws.

2. The bottom of the instrument is provided with a textured anti-slip surface to secure the specimen during cutting, making the cutting process easier and preventing the specimen from slipping.

3. A knurled graduated dial is located below the corrugated handwheel and is used to adjust the cutting thickness. To adjust the thickness, loosen the locking screw and rotate the knurled graduated dial clockwise to decrease the cutting thickness or counterclockwise to increase it. Adjust it to the required thickness, then tighten the locking screw.

Used to cut round samples of various wool, blended, chemical fiber, and knitted fabrics by hand.

V. Instructions for Use

1. Take the fabric to be cut, measure its thickness, and adjust the sampler disc as described above.

2. Lay the fabric flat on a cork mat. Place the disc sampler on the fabric, hold the outer cover with one hand, and grasp the corrugated handwheel 1 with the other hand, applying a certain amount of pressure. Then, rotate the corrugated handwheel clockwise (angle > 90 degrees) to cut the circular sample.
