Products Description
The Geotextile Dynamic Perforation Tester uses the falling cone method to evaluate the dynamic perforation resistance of geotextiles and other geosynthetic materials. During the test, the specimen is securely clamped between the clamping rings, and a stainless steel cone is released from a specified height to impact the specimen. The cone penetrates through the specimen under impact force, forming a puncture hole.
Geotextile Dynamic Perforation Tester | Falling Cone Test
Model: TDYT-4
I. Product Introduction
Used to test the resistance of various geosynthetic materials to penetration by a steel cone dropped from a specified height, thereby evaluating the resistance of geosynthetic materials to damage caused by falling rocks.
Applicable Standards: JTG E50, ISO/DIS 13433, GB/T 17630
II. Technical Specifications
1. Inner Diameter of Clamping Ring: 150 ± 0.5 mm
2. Distance from Cone Tip to Specimen: 500 ± 2 mm
3. Stainless Steel Cone: Cone angle: 45°; Total mass: 1000 ± 5 g
4. Measuring Cone: Mass: 600 ± 5 g; Graduation: 2 mm/division
5. Overall Dimensions: 435 × 575 × 1600 mm
6. Weight: 55 kg
III. Test Procedure
1. Prepare and condition the geotextile or geosynthetic specimen according to the applicable test standard.
2. Place the specimen horizontally and securely clamp it between the clamping rings.
3. Adjust the height so that the tip of the stainless steel cone is at the specified distance from the specimen.
4. Release the steel cone to allow it to fall freely and penetrate the specimen.
5. Remove the cone and inspect the puncture hole formed in the specimen.
6. Insert the measuring cone into the puncture hole and determine the maximum penetration diameter according to the specified graduation.
7. Record the test results and evaluate the dynamic perforation resistance of the specimen.
IV. Key Features
Designed specifically for dynamic perforation testing of geotextiles and geosynthetic materials.
Adopts the falling cone impact method for reliable and repeatable testing.
Precision clamping ring helps maintain stable specimen positioning during testing.
Stainless steel cone with a standardized cone angle and mass.
Measuring cone enables convenient determination of the puncture hole diameter.
Suitable for quality control, laboratory testing, research, and material performance evaluation.
Applicable to a wide range of woven and nonwoven geotextiles and other geosynthetic materials.
VI. Applications
The tester is suitable for testing geotextiles and geosynthetic materials used in roads, railways, landfills, drainage systems, erosion control, slope protection, hydraulic engineering, and other civil engineering applications. It is particularly useful for evaluating the ability of geosynthetic materials to withstand impact and puncture damage caused by falling stones or other sharp objects during construction and service.
