Products Description

Textile UV Protection & UPF Tester is a specialized testing instrument designed to evaluate the ultraviolet protection performance of textiles and fabrics. It measures UV transmittance and determines the Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF), as well as UVA and UVB transmission, providing reliable data for assessing the UV protection performance of clothing, fabrics, and other textile materials.

Textile UV Protection & UPF Tester

Model:TD1164-2

I. Scope of Application

The UV Resistance Tester (Fluorescent UV Lamp Method), also known as a Textile UV Protection Tester, is a specialized instrument designed to determine the UV transmittance and UV protection performance of textiles. It can directly measure the Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) as well as UVA (UV-A) and UVB (UV-B) transmittance.

Reference Standards: AATCC TM183, ASTM D6544

II. Technical Specifications

1. Wavelength Range and Accuracy: 280–400 nm, 1 nm

2. Transmittance Range and Resolution: 0–100%, 0.01%

3. UPF Range and Resolution: 0–50, 0.1; >100, 0.5

4. Specimen Port Height: 12 mm

5. Overall Dimensions: 500 × 310 × 300 mm (L × W × H)

III. Chamber Structure

1. Chamber Exterior:

SUS stainless steel plate with powder-coated finish; Inner Chamber: SUS stainless steel plate.

2. Chamber Cover:

SUS stainless steel plate with powder-coated finish.

A total of 8 UV-A or UV-B fluorescent UV lamps are installed on both sides of the working chamber.

The heating system uses a water-bath heating method in the inner chamber, providing rapid temperature rise and uniform temperature distribution.

The chamber cover adopts a double-sided hinged design for easy and smooth opening and closing.

The inner chamber water level is automatically replenished to prevent damage to the heating tubes caused by dry heating.

The specimen rack is made of stainless steel or aluminum alloy.

The bottom of the test chamber is equipped with high-quality lockable PU casters.

The drainage system uses swirl-type and U-shaped sediment collection devices for efficient drainage.

The specimen surface is parallel to the plane of the UV lamps.

For the spray-type model, automatic spray nozzles are installed inside the chamber, with adjustable water pressure.

UV Lamp Safety Protection: When the UV lamps are operating, if the chamber door is opened, the system automatically cuts off the power supply to the UV lamps and enters a balanced cooling mode to prevent exposure-related injury to personnel.

Overtemperature Protection: If the temperature inside the chamber becomes excessively high, the system automatically cuts off the power supply and enters a balanced cooling mode.

3. Control System for UV Weathering / UV Aging Test Chamber

Temperature and Humidity Controller: Equipped with a high-precision digital microcomputer integrated controller imported from South Korea.

Temperature Display Accuracy: 0.1°C

Temperature Resolution: ±0.1°C

Temperature Sensor: PT100 platinum resistance temperature sensor.

IV. Control Method

Thermal balance temperature and humidity control;

Temperature and humidity control adopts P.I.D + S.S.R system for coordinated control on the same channel;

Fuse-free protection switch; over-temperature; low water level; overload; leakage current; fully sheathed terminal blocks; automatic shutdown and other protections;

VI. Test Procedure

1. Position the specimen holder so that the exposed surface of the specimen faces the light source. If necessary, fill all gaps with a black plate to ensure uniform exposure.

2. Perform the test continuously according to the selected conditions and procedure and the required number of cycles. Interruptions for equipment maintenance and specimen inspection should be minimized.

VII. Test Report

The test report shall include the following:
