Products Description

The Cement Mortar Drying Shrinkage Length Comparator is designed to measure the length changes of cement mortar specimens during drying shrinkage tests. It is suitable for cement, mortar, and concrete testing in laboratories, research institutions, and quality control applications.

Cement Mortar Drying Shrinkage Length Comparator

Model: TD566 Series

I. Main Applications

The Concrete Drying Shrinkage Tester (Horizontal Shrinkage and Expansion Comparator) is developed and manufactured by our company in accordance with JTG E30-2005, Test Methods of Cement and Concrete for Highway Engineering, specifically T 0511-2005, Test Method for Drying Shrinkage of Cement Mortar.

The instrument complies with the requirements of GBJ 82-85 and references ASTM C596-23. It is mainly used to determine the changes in the length (volume) of concrete specimens during the hardening process under specified temperature and humidity conditions. The instrument provides reliable data for research institutes, educational institutions, design organizations, and construction companies in the research, teaching, quality control, and testing of concrete properties.

III. Concrete Shrinkage Test Molds

(1) TDM-566A Standard Concrete Drying Shrinkage Test Mold

• Dimensions: 100 mm × 100 mm × 400 mm

• Materials: Available in four options: all-steel, cast iron, plastic, and high-strength composite material.

• End Plates: The center of each end plate is provided with a hole for installing the measuring studs.

(2) TDM-566B Standard Concrete Drying Shrinkage Test Mold

• Dimensions: 100 mm × 100 mm × 515 mm; 150 mm × 150 mm × 515 mm

• Materials: Available in two options: all-steel and cast iron.

• End Plates: The center of each end plate is provided with a hole for installing the measuring studs.

IV. Structure and Functions

The Concrete Shrinkage and Expansion Comparator consists of a base, positioning column, adjustable column, dial indicator, standard bar, and other components.

1. Base

The base is a steel structural component used to support and hold the concrete specimens.

2. Positioning Column

The positioning column is used to provide longitudinal and transverse positioning for the standard bar and the left-side measuring head of the concrete specimen.

3. Adjustable Column

The adjustable column is provided with three through-holes for mounting the dial indicator, as well as set screws for positioning the dial indicator.

The three mounting holes are located 50 mm, 75 mm, and 100 mm, respectively, above the reference surface of the base.

• The hole located 50 mm above the base reference surface is used for measuring concrete specimens with dimensions of 100 × 100 × 515 mm.

• The hole located 75 mm above the base reference surface is used for measuring concrete specimens with dimensions of 150 × 150 × 515 mm. Since the standard mold is available only in 150 × 150 × 600 mm, it is recommended to use a mold shortening insert to reduce the formed specimen size to 150 × 150 × 515 mm.

4. Standard Bar

The standard bar serves as the reference length of the instrument.

The standard bar has been installed on the standard bar support before delivery. Do not remove or reinstall it arbitrarily, as this may affect the accuracy of the standard bar's center height.

The markings 50, 75, and 100 on the sides of the standard bar indicate that when the corresponding position is placed on the reference surface of the base, the center height of the standard bar is 50 mm, 75 mm, or 100 mm, respectively.
