Products Description

The Mastic Asphalt Mixture Penetration Tester is used to measure the indentation resistance and deformation performance of mastic asphalt under load and temperature conditions. It helps evaluate the consistency, stability, and durability of cast-in-place asphalt mixtures, making it suitable for laboratory testing, quality control, and material performance assessment.

Mastic Asphalt Mixture Penetration Tester

Model:TDJTXX-A

I. Product Introduction

The Mastic Asphalt Mixture Penetration Tester is used to measure the deformation of mastic asphalt mixtures under specified temperature and load conditions, thereby evaluating their penetration performance and high-temperature stability.

The instrument is designed in accordance with the Technical Guidelines for Design and Construction of Steel Box Girder Bridge Deck Pavement and JT/T 1131.4-2023 “Steel Bridge Deck Pavement – Part 4: Mastic Asphalt”, with reference to EN 12697-20 and BS EN 12970 standards.

II. Main Features

1.Equipped with an MCGS embedded touchscreen control system, featuring a user-friendly interface and easy operation.

2.Automatic acquisition and storage of penetration value and penetration increment, facilitating data management and traceability.

3.Multi-stage PID temperature control system with programmable temperature profiles, allowing users to create, save, edit, and delete multiple heating curves for stable and reliable control performance.

4.Supports USB data export of test processes; test results can be queried, printed, and deleted, ensuring flexible and efficient data management.

III. Technical Parameters

Penetration rod cross-sectional area: 5 cm²

Penetration rod diameter: 2.52 cm

Penetration rod weight: 2.5 kg

Displacement range: 15 mm

Displacement resolution: 0.01 mm

Heating power: 2 kW

Temperature control range: 0–60 °C

Time measurement range & accuracy: 0–60 min, ±1 s

Power supply: 220 V ±10%, 50 Hz, 2070 W

Overall dimensions: 560 × 350 × 785 mm (L × W × H)

Net weight: 55 kg

IV. Operating Procedure

1.Demold the specimen after the specified cooling and curing process. Use the side surface of the specimen as the testing surface and place it back into the mold.

2.Place the mold and specimen into a water bath at the preset temperature and maintain for 60 minutes.

3.Lower the penetration rod vertically until it makes full contact with the specimen surface.

4.Release the penetration rod and start timing simultaneously. Apply an initial load of 2.5 kgf (24.5 N), and record the dial gauge reading (penetration value) at 10 minutes.

5.Fix the penetration rod, apply a 50 kgf (480.5 N) load on the loading platform, and record dial gauge readings at 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 20, 30, and 60 minutes.

6.The penetration value at 30 minutes is taken as the specimen’s penetration result. The difference between the 60-minute and 30-minute readings is the penetration increment. The deviation between two parallel tests shall not exceed 0.1 mm
