Products Description
The dynamic shear strain controlled rheometer (DSR) is used to determine the rheological properties of asphalt binders under different temperature and loading conditions. By controlling the strain mode, the complex shear modulus and phase angle are analyzed to evaluate its high-temperature rutting resistance and low-temperature crack resistance.
Asphalt DSR Tester
Model:TD628-2
I. Overview:
The TD628-2 Asphalt Rheological Properties Tester (also known as a Dynamic Shear Rheometer) is used to measure the rheological properties (complex shear modulus, phase angle, etc.) of asphalt binders at high temperatures. The Dynamic Shear Rheometer is an instrument for determining the linear viscoelastic properties of aged or unaged asphalt (modified or unmodified asphalt) within a temperature range of 5-85 °C. When testing according to the AASHTO MP1 method, the asphalt sample is clamped in a circular parallel plate at a specified temperature, and the complex shear modulus and phase angle of the sample are measured by applying a known torque. Two test modes can be performed using the corresponding software: strain control (measuring stress) and stress control (measuring strain); AASHTO PP6 temperature scanning tests can also be performed. Frequency scanning tests can be performed using the corresponding software, and a general-purpose system can perform non-SHRP tests for research purposes.
II. Dry Asphalt Testing System:
The rheometer provides a traditional asphalt immersion unit and a dry asphalt temperature control accessory. Both temperature control systems meet SHRP, ASTM, and AASHTO specifications and include 8mm and 25mm parallel plates and sample molds. The dry asphalt system combines a superior upper heated plate system (UHP) with a unique stepped Peltier plate. Automatic zero heat flux calibration ensures a temperature gradient of less than +/- 0.1°C. This dry asphalt system features a newly designed Intelligent Temperature Control (ATC), making it a stepped Peltier system capable of simultaneously and directly controlling the temperature of both the upper and lower clamps. Flexible cooling options include an external circulator or a new eddy current cooling system.
